Açoforja had developed ACF-630/633 steel for rail applications and for wearing bars.

This development was based over years of experiences in supplying rails for several applications, where the performance for a plenty of steels were followed at site as for example: SAE-1060, 1070, 4140, 4340, 8640, 8660, St.52.3 and others.

In analyzing the performance for these materials when in operation, we defined a specific alloy for each use. The manufacturing process is a proper one and strictly controlled at heating, forging, cooling, heat treatment and machining.

This amount of factors as a whole, link the supply of a high quality product and performance, where we achieve to solve factors as the high wearing strength, the yield and the impact in addition to a high hardening penetration.

These materials achieve a useful life till 8 times over the usual rails depending on its applications.

In table bellow we may compare the mechanical properties obtained in samples taken off from rails with cross section of 150mm side to a T/4 (38mm in depth), with a surface hardness to 400 HB (approximate values).
